About Me

I'm Ruma, as a first-generation Bangladeshi-American hailing from Detroit, MI, I've been fortunate to carry a rich tapestry of cultural influences with me throughout my journey as a designer.

MY passion

I discovered the immense potential of user-centered design to positively impact people's lives.

Growing up in a community and family where technology was not as accessible has encouraged me to embrace practical problem-solving skills. I am committed to a career path where I can create meaningful, accessible intuitive experiences and how it can engage and connect with others.

MY PROCESS

Collaboration is key to my process.

I thrive on working closely with diverse teams, bridging the gap between design and development to deliver products that meet user needs while achieving larger objectives.

About my Logo

rô (occasionally spelled - bô-e shunyô rô to identify it) The Bengali script, also known as the Bangla alphabet, is the alphabet used to write Bengali. It is one of the world's most extensively used writing systems. (used by over 265 million people). It is the official script of Bengali in Bangladesh and West Bengal

Experience

I gained a foundation in UX design principles from my education at the University of Michigan. My education and work experience span different domains within software that make me a cross skilled person. These experiences have helped shape my abilities in human-centered design, evaluative research, and detailed communication.

3+ years of evaluative research and design
